AEL MINING SERVICES DONATES TO UMaT
AEL Mining Services, a mining service company has donated an amount of US$50,000.00 to the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa. The donation, which took place in the University, was made as a contribution of the Company towards the acquisition of fire protection equipment for the University.
Mr Glyn Rees, the Managing Director of AEL Ghana, presented the cheque of the said amount on behalf of the Company. He was full of appreciation to the Vice Chancellor and the Management of the University for the effort they were making in the training of the manpower needs of the mining and its allied industries. Mr Rees said that AEL Mining Services was aware of the need of the University for fire protection equipment and that the Company made the donation as a contribution towards the acquisition of the said equipment.
Mr Glyn Rees said another reason for the donation was because the Company drew a significant number of its human resources from the University and added that, the AEL Mining Services would be looking forward for other opportunities to sponsor the University in various areas of need.
Professor Daniel Mireku-Gyimah, the Vice Chancellor of the University, received the donation on behalf of the University. He expressed the appreciation of the University to AEL Mining Services for the donation and assured the Company that the money would be used for the purpose for which it was donated. He added that he would ensure the formation of a Committee to collaborate with AEL Mining Services to source sponsorship from the Company.
