Two staff of the University’s Campus Radio Station, Dynamite 88.9 FM, Thomas Tetteh, News Editor and Morning Show Host, and Seth Boham, also known as Uncle Atongo, Host of Mid-Morning Rhythms have been awarded for their excellent performance and contribution to the radio industry for the year 2021.
Thomas Tetteh was adjudged the best Morning Show Host and Newscaster of the year while Seth Boham was adjudged the Mid-Morning Show Host of the year during the Luxury Touch Radio Personality (LTRP) Awards organized by Luxury Touch Hotel in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality to award radio personalities for their sterling performance in radio broadcasting in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality.
There were ten categories of award consisting of Morning Show Host of the year, Midmorning Show Host of the year, Sports Presenter of the year, Radio DJ of the year, Newscaster of the year, Radio Personality of the Year, Entertainment Host of the year, Drive Time Host of the year, Social Programme Host of the year, and the Radio Station of the year. Thomas Tetteh was the only nominee who grabbed double awards out of the 10.
The President of Luxury Touch Hotel, Mr Claude Ankrah noted that media personalities in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality have contributed immensely to the development of the Municipality, hence the need to acknowledge them to encourage them to do more for the Municipality. According to Mr Claude Ankrah, the LTRP awards will be an annual event to acknowledge hardworking media personalities.

In a related development, Thomas Tetteh won the Best Journalist (Radio Category) during the MTN Bright Media Awards 2021 at a ceremony organised at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, on Friday March 11, 2022.
The Awards Competition was to reward journalists across the country for their contribution to the growth of MTN.
The award covered Online, Print, Radio and Television categories. Award winners received prizes which consisted of cash, digital devices, plaques and other souvenirs.
Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Mr Serlom Adedevor congratulated the Media and the award winners for their sterling performance and contribution towards the development of MTN Ghana.
Former Executive Director of Media Foundation for West Africa, Prof Kwame Karikari who was the guest speaker stated that every journalistic award is a challenge to Journalists to do what they are supposed to do and do it right and charged the award winners to keep a high Journalistic standard.
Thomas Tetteh and Seth Boham presented their awards to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Richard K. Amankwah as a sign of honour to the Vice Chancellor and the University. At the meeting, Prof Amankwah congratulated the two media persons for the awards and urged them to do more. Present were Prof Anthony Simons, Pro Vice Chancellor, Mr M. K. Okrah, Registrar, Mr David Kwaku Gyapong, Chairman of Dynamite FM Management Committee and Mr Nicholas Mensah, Ag General Manager, Dynamite FM.
