UMaT Signs MoU with Kristo Asafo
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and Kristo Asafo Technology Centre (KATC) has been signed at an impressive ceremony at Tarkwa in the Western Region.
The signing ceremony which coincided with the fourth matriculation event of the University was witnessed by management, senior administrative and academic staff of the University and other officials of the Kristo Asafo Church, owners of the Kristo Asafo Technology Centre.
Prof. Daniel Mireku-Gyimah, Vice Chancellor of UMaT signed the MOU document on behalf of the University which was witnessed by the Registrar Mr. Emmanuel Bedai, whilst Mr. Festus Owusu- Boadu , General Secretary of Kristo Asafo Church initialled on behalf of KATC with Mr Emmanuel Yaw Boakye as the witness.
The broad objective of the MOU is to foster university and industry collaboration so as to encourage multi-disciplinary research between UMaT and KATC. It also seeks to enhance professional skills of staff of both institutions through training, staff interactions and exchange of experiences and information.
Under the MOU, UMaT and KATC shall engage in collaborative research and that benefits emanating from the joint research shall be shared proportionately according to inputs provided by each party.
The MOU between the two institutions will remain in force for a period of five years from the date of signing and it will be reviewed every five years.
