The Faculty of Mining and Minerals Technology strives to be a dynamic centre of innovation and creativity dedicated to producing world-class professionals in the fields of mining, technology and related disciplines. In general, our mission is to foster excellence in teaching, research, and learning within a systems approach to engineering education. The Faculty produces engineering graduates with a strong base of technical knowledge and the complementary skills needed to be successful professional mining and minerals engineers in the modern world. The Faculty consists of two academic departments, namely: Mining Engineering; and Minerals Engineering. Academic programmes in the Faculty over the years have attracted foreign students from Sierra Leone, Cameroun, Burkina Faso, Mali, and China. The Faculty has been actively involved in research, consultancy and extension services to communities in the catchment area of the University and the mining industry in Ghana and abroad.

The department of minerals also runs a Certificate programme in Mining and Minerals  Technology.

POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS’ ENROLMENT

There are currently one hundred and twenty-nine (129) postgraduate students in the faculty.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS’ ENROLMENT

There are currently one thousand two hundred and twenty-three (1,223) undergraduate students and twenty-seven (27) students enrolled in certificate programmes in the faculty.
